After doing a series of headshots for Actor Marcos Sotomayor, I found this shot among them. It would never pass as a headshot since it doesn't quite meet the criteria (not enough focus on the face, no connection between the viewer and the subjects eyes, etc.) but I liked it as a photograph.

While we were walking around taking photographs, Marc told me a story about a musician who used to hail cabs by lying on the street in front of them. Effective? I think so. It inspired me to take this shot. Tape Recorder

This was kind of a last minute shoot since he was leaving to for his Europe tour in three days and had no promotional photos, but I was more than happy to take on the task for Marc Hug of Tape Recorder. The shoot was incredibly fun and Marc let me have full creative control of how the photographs came out. I couldn't choose just one shot from this set since there were many that I could call my favorite but there's always tomorrow.

This wasn't a paying gig but it did offer a lot of exposure on the very popular arts website, juxtapoz.com. I photographed the Jonathan Levine Gallery when they opened featuring work by the Date Farmers (awesome!), Eric White, Nicola Verlato and Fulvio di Piazza. The gallery was amazing and all the artists were fun and friendly. It was an amazing evening that yielded a lot of queries for my services. This shot wasn't on the required shot list but I included it anyway because I liked that both visitors of this piece had their heads tilted in the same direction. I figured they saw something I couldn't or that everyone looks at art with their heads tilted to the right. Juxtapoz.com - Jonathan Levine Gallery

Most of what I have posted here has been personal photographs, things happening in my life, the people I love, etc. For a change, I've decided to pick some of my favorite shots from the photography work I've done. I shot Lauren for BustedTees.com. Its not a particularly funny shirt but they do make some very amusing ones. BustedTees holds a special place in my heart, they were my very first paying gig. You can't have a four year old daughter, bring her to California, and not bring her here. Disneyland was one of my earliest memories from when I first moved here from the Philippines, I wanted it to be my daughters too. She renewed my love of this place, long after I had outgrown it.

Right by Golden Gate Bridge, there is a beautiful park filled with ponds, swans, and architecture. Long ago, when my photography career was just a dream and all I had was a disposable film camera, I couldnt do this place justice with my pictures. Now, with all my gear and all that I have learned over the years. I still cant.

This comes all the way from the west (some say the best) coast. Before my wife moved here from Bermuda and our daughter moved here from the Philippines, I had dreamed of the day when I could bring them to where I grew up. A couple months ago, I finally got to do that. This week is all from California.
